Privacy Policy
What we store
- If you sign in with Google: your Google account email address and a sign-in ID created by Google Firebase, plus your display name in the app.
- Your temple record: the temples you mark as visited, the visit dates and notes you choose to add, and which temple lists you choose to show.
- If you use the app without signing in: all of this is kept only on your device and is never sent to us.
We do not collect your location, contacts, photos or any other information from your phone.
How it is used
Only to show you your own progress, badges and darshan diary, and to keep it in sync across your devices. Nobody else, including the developer, uses your record for any other purpose.
Where it is kept
Signed-in records are stored with Google Firebase (Authentication and Cloud Firestore), in Google's Mumbai (India) data centre. Security rules allow only you, when signed in, to read or change your record.
Other services the app uses
- Wikipedia / Wikimedia Commons: temple photos and short histories are loaded directly from Wikipedia. Your device asks Wikipedia for the article about a temple; no personal information is sent.
- Google Maps: opens only when you tap a map link.
- Google Fonts: used for the app's lettering.
Deleting your data
Open Profile → Delete my account and all my data in the app. This permanently removes your record and your sign-in account straight away. If you used the app without signing in, Profile → Clear all visits on this device removes everything stored on the device. You can also email baltimoretechcloud@gmail.com from the address you sign in with to ask for deletion.
Children
Parikrama is meant for a general audience and does not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
